Feed #2

I am so appalled by what's been going on in the book so far. As I continue to read, apart of me wants to continue and finish the book but the other half just wants to never pick up the book again. It's has become more interestingly disgusting and I want to read it with my eyes closed. Reading about lesions and how the cuts and gashes and sores on your body is perfectly fine in Feed does make you want to skip over that part. And the Feed is so controlling as well as convincing that people think of it as a trend. One part of the book, where Quendys walks into the party with her fashionable lesions all over her body somehow excited me. Because I was going to think maybe someone was going to reject her. But everyone embraced how cuts and sores. Marty even commented and said she was hot.
In comparison to America today, we do have customs like plastic surgery, getting braces, outrages fashion trends that people do give into. Each of these idea like braces for example, some cultures would never think of putting very tight metal brackets on your teeth to get them straight, and in turn, be more attractive to society. America is socially controlled by the media as well as social and political figures. Just like the Feed is doing to their society.
